Therapeutic Response Statement (Sensitivity)

This therapeutic response statement supports the relationship that BRCA2 pathogenic variants, HER2-negative status confers therapeutic sensitivity to Olaparib in patients with Invasive Breast Carcinoma.

Health Canada approved olaparib for the adjuvant treatment of adult patients with deleterious or suspected deleterious germline BRCA-mutated (gBRCAm), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative high risk early breast cancer who have been treated with neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy.

This statement is based on a regulatory approval from the Health Canada:

LYNPARZA (olaparib) is indicated for the adjuvant treatment of adult patients with deleterious or suspected deleterious germline BRCA-mutated (gBRCAm), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative high risk early breast cancer who have been treated with neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy. Patients must have confirmation of a germline BRCA mutation before LYNPARZA treatment is initiated.
